Grants are available from Somerville to help undergraduates in their second or third year with the costs of course-related materials. This could include books, journals, software, photocopies and photographs.
All enrolled undergraduates in the second or third year of their course can apply for this funding. Students who are on suspension and visiting students are not eligible. Students can only claim for purchases made between 1st October and 30th September in the current academic year. Students should ensure that they also apply to other funding sources such as department or faculty grants.
Students can claim up to £50. This is the total amount available over both years. If purchases total more than this amount, students will be reimbursed for the first £50. It is possible to make multiple applications of smaller amounts.
Please complete the application form and attach evidence of your purchases. The deadline for claims is either 30th September or your course completion date, whichever is sooner.
The award will be placed on your battels account and then paid into your UK bank account. Please note that the award will offset any existing battels account debits before the balance is paid. If you have changed your bank details since starting at Somerville, please email the Treasury.
