Getting to Somerville
By Car
If you wish to drive, Oxford has an excellent Park & Ride service, which drops passengers at the end of Cornmarket, a 5-7 minute walk from Somerville. If you need to drive into the city itself, parking is also available on St Giles, within a few minutes’ walk of the college. The Gloucester Green, Worcester Street and Broad Street car parks are also a short walk from Somerville.
Use the Oxford Park & Ride Service
By Public Transport
Oxford Railway Station is fifteen minutes from Somerville, offering regular trains to London termini and other mainline destinations. You can also take a cab or bus to Oxford Parkway, where you can catch a fast train to London Marylebone every half hour. For coaches to cities throughout the UK as well Heathrow and Gatwick Airports, head to Oxford Bus Station on Gloucester Green, a mere ten minutes’ walk away.
On Foot
Walking around Oxford is very convenient (as well as beneficial for the environment). It takes between 10-20 minutes to walk from all the centrally located public transport termini (Gloucester Green Bus Station, Oxford Train Station, Park & Ride) to Somerville. If travelling via Oxford Parkway, there are regular buses into the town centre, as well as plentiful taxis.
