Funding is available from Somerville to help BMBCH (Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Medicine) students with the cost of essential medical equipment.

Eligibility

All enrolled BMBCH students can apply for this funding. Students who are on suspension are not eligible. The following items are covered by these grants:

  • Fob watches
  • Ophthalmoscopes
  • Otoscopes
  • Pen torches
  • Reflex hammers
  • Stethoscopes
  • Stethoscope cases
  • Suture kits
  • Up to four pairs of scrubs

Award levels

Students can claim up to £900 over the length of their course.

Application process

Please complete the application form and attach evidence of your purchase. The deadline for claims is your course completion date.

Payments

The award will be placed on your battels account and then paid into your UK bank account. Please note that the award will offset any existing battels account debits before the balance is paid.
