Inspired by the inclusive values of Somerville, the Choir’s repertoire is one of the most varied and diverse in Oxford.
Always eclectic, the music sung by the Somerville College Choir balances Anglican sacred works with secular pieces. Music by underrepresented composers forms a substantial part of our output.
You can listen to us in-person every Sunday in term time at Choral Contemplation, as well as at termly events and concerts (including a very popular biennial performance of Bach’s St John Passion). We regularly tour further afield too, with recent and upcoming destinations including Italy, USA, and China.
The Choir has released several award-winning CDs with commercial record labels, and we are often heard on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM. You can listen to our albums online by following the links below. Physical copies are also available to purchase from the College Lodge, or by emailing choir@some.ox.ac.uk.
