Our College has always been strong in the face of challenges. Now, we are looking to the future. RISE, our new campaign, draws on Somerville’s five-year strategy, focusing on Resilience, Inclusivity, Sustainability and Excellence. RISE recognises that we must build our resources still further to nurture our people, include the excluded, support the highest levels of research and teaching, and protect our precious environment.

Together, all four strands of RISE find expression in our exciting new building. Sitting on the ROQ site and close to Walton Street, this beautiful new part of Somerville will offer rooms for our tutors to carry out research and teaching, together with spaces for events where we can share our research with others and collaborate across disciplines. This is what Somerville is about: space to think, a place to belong and the chance to contribute.
You have always been generous in supporting the College. Now we are asking for your help once more. We have ambitious plans to offer new skills and support to our members, to lead the way in access work and to champion the research and practice of sustainability. Together, we will use our RISE campaign to take the power of Somerville’s past and present and amplify it for an even greater future.
