Setting up a UK bank account
All students need their own bank UK account, not only for day to day life but also to make and receive payments on the EPOS system (Somerville College web-based payments system, used for topping up your food card and paying battels). To learn more about EPOS please head to the section below.
A UK bank account is also required if you are awarded a grant, scholarship or prize during your course at Somerville.
For UK students, we suggest doing this as soon as possible.
For International students, you will need to open a UK Bank account as soon as you arrive in the UK. The University of Oxford International Students webpage has information on how to do it (click on the Finances and Banks Section).
Financial information sheets for new students
These sheets cover the schedule of payments that need to be made before your course starts and how and when you pay your fees and other charges throughout the year.

Once you have received your Single Sign On (SSO), you will need to complete the following forms:
Providing Your Bank Account Details
Once you have received your Single Sign On (SSO), please provide the Treasury with your bank account details. This will enable Somerville to make payments to your account for scholarships, awards and grants that you may win or apply for.
EPOS: Paying for meals in college and more
Once you have received your Single Sign On (SSO) you will need to sign up for EPOS.
EPOS is Somerville College’s web-based payments system (EPOS) which enables you to pay for your college battels (for example printing) and top up your food card. You can use this system at any time of the day or night. You will use this card daily so you will need to make sure you have this set up before you start at Somerville.
