“The goals of the Middle Common Room are to provide a mutually supportive environment for its members, to represent their academic and social interests, to recognise and welcome the multi-cultural interests of the MCR, and to act as a channel of communication with the College, the University, and the community at large” – MCR Constitution

General Meetings

The MCR holds two General Meetings per term which are open to all members, and at least two committee meetings. GMs are a great opportunity to meet other MCR members, stay up to date on current affairs and voice your opinion on issues that are important to you. They currently take place in a hybrid form, both in person and via Zoom.

How to submit a motion

Motions may be submitted by any member of the MCR and must be seconded by another member.

To submit a motion, complete the submission form and send it to the secretary at mcr.secretary@some.ox.ac.uk at least 48 hours before the meeting:
