Matriculation is the ceremony which marks your formal admission to the University, usually at the end of your first week. Normally this takes place in a ceremony at the Sheldonian theatre. You will be required to wear Academic Dress to your Matriculation.
Who should Matriculate?
All undergraduate and post graduate freshers should Matriculate within 3 terms of starting their course. The Academic Office will contact you via email with all the information you need for your Matriculation just before the start of Michaelmas Term.
Who does not need to Matriculate
MSc Sleep Medicine, MSc Global Healthcare Leadership, Visiting and Recognised students are not required to matriculate.
If you have previously studied at Oxford, you do not need to matriculate again. You can be in the First Year Group Photograph if you wish, but you will need to wear Academic Dress for this. You will be contacted by the Academic Office with information about this in 0th week.
