As the quad transforms for the Somerville-Jesus ball and students sit their collections, it really does feel like life is getting back to normal here.

Part of that return to normality is reuniting with you, our alumni community. That means extending an invitation to our Chapel’s Choral Contemplations (find their termcard attached); hosting our first Gaudy, Willpower Lunch, and public lectures since 2020; and going out to you directly. We were thrilled to hit the road and travel to the eastern United States for the first time in many years, hosting reunions in New York, Boston and Washington DC and doing an online Q&A.

If you can’t visit Somerville in person, we can still bring Somerville to you. Our Head Gardener, Sophie, will deliver another episode of her popular ‘Gardens Live’ series on Friday the 13th of May at 1PM. Join us on Facebook to tune in!

A more sombre, but important occasion will also be returning to its traditional setting: the annual commemoration service will be celebrated in the Chapel on June the 11th. This is one of the most significant and moving events in the college calendar, and, after two years of being unable to come together to remember those of our community we have lost, we hope you will be able to join us.
