We are delighted to announce that, having postponed celebrations due to Covid, we will be marking the centenary of SCBC at this year’s Boat Club dinner.

We hope to serve Pimm’s and other refreshments during the afternoon of the final day of Summer VIIIs, cheering on this year’s cohort of rowers from the riverside. Formal hall will then be held at 19.30 with a drinks reception at 18.45.

At this exciting juncture in the Boat Club’s history, we are also aiming to buy the women’s team a new boat. The current boat is 17 years old and recently suffered significant damaged in last term’s Torpids. The students have raised over £5,000 of a £26,000 target and we are now sharing the appeal with alumni who may be in a position to help see them over the line. If you would be interested in supporting the women of SCBC at this pivotal moment then please contact the Development Office at development.office@some.ox.ac.uk or click here to make a gift online.

PS – we took a trip into the SCBC archives and dug out some old SCBC Summer VIIIs team sheets! We hope you enjoy finding yourself and your friends below and that some of the rather whimsical team names bring back happy memories…
