Applicants for some courses will receive reading lists and/or preparatory work for their course.

  • Courses are listed alphabetically below, please check your subject to see if you have any preparatory reading or other work to complete.

  • If you are starting a joint honours degree such as History and Economics or Philosophy and Linguistics, please check the section for each subject. 

  • Not all tutors will provide these documents and those that do might issue them at different times, so please check this page regularly for updates if you are expecting to receive them.

Ancient and Modern History

A reading list (for Ancient History) will be sent to you by your tutor in early September.  If you do not receive anything please contact: academic.office@some.ox.ac.uk 

You will not normally be sent any reading for the Modern side of your degree before you start your degree.
