Eligibility

Residency

Applicants must be ordinarily resident in India or have previously studied at an Indian higher education institution.

Eligible courses

The scholarship is open to offer holders for the following courses:

  • BCL
  • MJur
  • MSc Criminology and Criminal Justice (full-time)
  • MSc Law and Finance
  • MPhil Law
  • MPhil Socio-Legal Research

Other criteria

The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and relevance of studies to the Centre’s interdisciplinary aims. Financial need will also be taken into account.

Award levels

This is a partial scholarship and the exact award level is to be confirmed.

Number of awards

One scholarship is available for 2021/22 entry.

Application process

All eligible candidates who have applied for graduate study by the January deadline will be considered, regardless of which college preference (if any) is included in the graduate application. Successful scholars will be transferred to Somerville. Eligible candidates may be contacted by email in April 2021 and asked to submit some additional information to support their application.
