Right now, 40-50% of Indian post-graduate applicants who qualify for Oxford cannot take up their places due to financial or circumstantial constraints. As such, scholarships are a core aim of the OICSD because they have the potential to close this gap, enabling bright students to study in Oxford and empowering the next generation of Indian policy-makers and leaders.
We want to create brain gain for India, not brain drain – so to secure funding, all our scholars demonstrate a commitment to return to India and work towards leading change in their areas of expertise. Together, these brilliant scholars will be the leaders, thinkers and pioneers who will deliver lasting change for India and the world.
This year, the OICSD has grown to having 21 remarkable scholars pursuing research in diverse areas ranging from sanitation and hygiene to electric mobility in cities.
