Gifts from our North American donors are received by Americans for Oxford, Inc. (AFO). AFO is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organisation (recognised by the U.S Internal Revenue Service) which seeks gifts to benefit the University and its Colleges.

Recurring Gifts
One of the most powerful ways to support Somerville is through a regular gift via direct debit. This method directly helps with the running expenses of Oxford’s unique tutorial system or the cost of subsidising food and accommodation to ensure they remain affordable for students. If you give a regular gift to Somerville, you will also become a member of the Somerville College Cedar Circle, a social group that enables alumni to see the impact of their generosity first hand.

Matched Gifts
Have you considered matched giving? Many organisations and businesses today have agreed to match the donations made by their employees to worthy causes. Please contact your Human Resources department to find out if they operate a matching gift scheme. In most cases, the company will match your donation pound for pound up to a specific level; a handful of organisations even double-match. If your employer does participate in the scheme, they will be able to give you a form to fill in confirming the gift you have made, which you can then send to us confirming receipt of the gift.
