Our support is also vital in safeguarding the cohesion of our community, the centres of research we support and the academics who maintain our standing at the cutting-edge of research and thought.
Universify
Universify exists to further educational equality and in doing so improve social mobility. They have worked closely with Somerville College since their founding, pursuing a shared ambition to create a fairer, more representative society in which anyone with academic potential can excel at university regardless of their background. Their special focus on working with highly-selective universities has made them an ideal partner in our ongoing Access and Outreach initiatives.
Target Oxbridge
Target Oxbridge aims to help black African and Caribbean students, including students of mixed race with black African and Caribbean heritage improve their chances of gaining places at the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge. By 2019, Target Oxbridge had successfully helped 142 students of black African and Caribbean heritage to secure Oxbridge places, and we are proud to partner with this immensely positive, impactful organisation.
Access and Outreach
We work throughout the year to raise aspiration and increase participation in higher education, as well as doing everything we can to erase the unfair barriers to applying and studying at Oxford faced by students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
