Dr Vilma de Gasperin, a Lecturer in Italian at Somerville, has been named the ‘Outstanding Tutor in Humanities’ 2015 by the Oxford University Student Union.
The Student Union makes 15 awards annually to those deemed to have made exceptional contributions in a range of academic and pastoral categories. Somerville’s staff received two of the 15 awards for 2015.
Dr Simone Finkmann, Assistant Dean at Somerville and Lecturer in Classics, won in the ‘Best Support Staff’ category for 2015.
Two further Somervillians were nominated for OUSU awards.
Lynn Cross, who is College Nurse at Somerville and Keble, was nominated for the ‘Best Support Staff’ category and Matt Rattley, a Somervillian who recently graduated in Chemistry, was nominated for the ‘Best Tutor’ category in the MPLS division.
