Somerville will again be welcoming members of the public to College as part of Oxford Open Doors this weekend.

The theme of Oxford Open Doors 2023 is ‘Everyday Oxford’. Inspired by this theme, we are inviting visitors to embark on a self-guided tour of the College before exploring a new exhibition highlighting the work of College staff across the years.

Over the years, many figures have contributed towards making Somerville the bold and inclusive academic community it is today. Many of these individuals are well-known to us, including famous alumni, influential principals and fellows. Less well-known but no less important are the College staff who have acted as the backbone of College throughout its long and storied history, rarely stealing the limelight but always making a difference.

Please join us on Sunday 10th September to hear the stories of the many people who, with such constancy, have enabled our college to function and flourish across the years. The college grounds will be open for a self-guided tour and the exhibition is free for visitors to explore at their leisure.

Oxford Open Doors is now in its 16th year and one of the most successful Heritage Open Day events in the country. Find out more about Oxford Open Doors
