studentsFive students who have benefited from the support of our generous alumni share their stories. Students were asked about their life at Somerville College and how they have been helped during their studies.

Every year our Annual Fund provides a vital source of income to Somerville, making a direct impact to our current students and underpinning the core activities of the College. Through the generosity of our alumni and friends, we can continue providing essential student support, maintaining our buildings and facilities and safeguarding the tutorial system for future generations.

Every donation at all levels is so greatly appreciated by our undergraduates and graduates, as it ensures that they can really get the most out of their time here. To find out more  about the work of the Annual Fund, and the ways in which you can support students today, please visit our website for more information.

We will be releasing more videos in the near future on our YouTube channel and if you are a student who would like to tell your story, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We are very pleased to introduce you to the first five undergraduates interviewed for Student Stories:

Sam Billington, former Vice-President of the JCR and a third year PPE student.

Chloe Funnell, a second year classicist who is also the LGBTQ+ Officer at Somerville.

Harry McSwaine, a second year music student who is currently the Music Officer for the Somerville Jesus Ball.

Martha MacLaren, a second year student studying history and German who recently visited Ghana to help with the Molly’s Library project.

Cameron Fern, a second year mathematician who is involved in maths outreach programme, Marcus’ Marvelous Mathemagicians.
