Our Anahy Mecado Zambrana (2019, Engineering) was named as one of the upReach ten at the Student Social Mobility Awards last week, after being shortlisted in both the Outstanding Achievement and Science and Engineering categories.

upReach are a charity dedicated to working with universities, top employers and other charities to support disadvantaged students across the UK and promote social mobility. Earlier this year, they won a Queen’s Award for Enterprise for their work, the highest official award for British businesses.

Their upReach Ten awards recognise the top ten undergraduate nominees judged by an expert panel to have achieved, or have the potential to achieve, outstanding success academically, professionally and/or personally. This could be in the form of resilience, determination or initiative; participation in work experience or internship programmes; by the attainment of significant leadership roles at university and using those roles to great effect; or by efforts made to boost employability in unique and innovative ways.
