The Ball President is current Somervillian and PPE student, Nick Machin (PPE, 2014) who, along with 20 other committee members, has been tirelessly planning the upcoming event for over a year. ‘Historically, Somerville and Jesus have held their Summer Balls together and it’s really fantastic to continue this tradition in 2016,’ said Nick.

This year’s theme is Surrealism, which will focus on the power of the imaginative and the subconscious, with different outdoor areas set up to bring these themes to life. There will be live music and a main stage showcasing local and national talent, while the food provided will certainly be a highlight, serving dishes from Himalayan curries, Italian artisan pizzas to mac ‘n’ cheese.
