The College welcomes the public this Sunday as part of the Oxford Preservation Trust’s ‘Oxford Open Doors Weekend’.

Between 10am and 4pm, visitors will have an opportunity to take a self-guided tour of the buildings, discover the amazing individuals and groundbreaking research that make up Somerville’s story with exhibitions and displays across the site, and sip on refreshments at the Terrace café and bar.

Somerville, which usually does not admit public visitors outside of term time, is opening specially for the occasion.

Oxford Open Doors is described by organisers the Oxford Preservation Trust as ‘an annual celebration of Oxford across all walks of life, its places and its people.” Created in partnership with Oxford University, many of the institution’s buildings and constituent Colleges will welcome visitors on the day.

In addition to Oxford University, other organisations supporting this year’s event include Oxford City Council and Oxford Brookes University, as well as local hotels and restaurants including Quod, Malmaison and the Old Bank Hotel.
