The line-up for Somerville Arts Week has been announced and a page launched on Facebook ahead of the March celebration.

This year the week carries the title ‘Women in the Arts’ and will run from 1 March to 7 March.

Among an impressive line-up of speakers are Alison Balsom, Trumpet Soloist and Christine Langan, Head of BBC Films and Executive Producer of Pride, Testament of Youth and more.

Somerville Arts Week: Programme

Sunday 1st March

6.30pm – 8.30pm: Drinks Reception, Jazz, Zine Launch and Exhibition Private View @ the Old Bar, (Somervillians/ Exhibitors Only).

Monday 2nd March

2pm – 3pm: Alison Balsom, Trumpet Soloist @ the Margaret Thatcher Centre, (University – £2).
5pm – 8pm: Exhibition @ the Old Bar (University – FREE)

Tuesday 3rd March

4.30 – 5.30pm: Christine Langan, Head of BBC Films and Executive Producer of ‘Pride’, ‘Testament of Youth’ etc. @ the Margaret Thatcher Centre, (University – £2).
7.30 – 8.30pm: Poetry Open Mic/Reading @ the Albion Beatnik Bookshop (University – £3).

7.30 – 8.30pm: Lynne Parker, Comedian and Founder of Funny Women in an Improvised Comedy Workshop, @ the Flora Anderson Hall, (University – FREE)
