Somerville Arts Week ended at the weekend with a performance of Claudio Monteverdi’s final opera The Coronation of Poppea.

The audience was enormously enthusiastic and Katie Jeffries-Harris, the Somerville student and music scholar who produced it, was proud of the quality achieved by musicians and singers alike.

“I am pleased to say it was a massive success!” said Katie. “We had a wonderful audience and I couldn’t have wished for a better performance from the singers and musicians.”
