Literary Lunch Nov09 007Somerville would like to congratulate the outstanding success of the eight students this year who were awarded the Principal’s Prize.

The prizes, which were awarded for the first time last year, are for students who score in the top 5% or better of their subject University and/ or gained top marks for a dissertation or in a particular set of papers in a university examination. Each student receives £250 for the prize, which is awarded in addition to the University or Departmental prizes.

This year, they were awarded to:

Robert Adam (History)

Xuan Du (Jurispridence)

Martin Engelcke (Engineering)

Rachel Porter (Chemistry)

Terence Tang (Biochemistry)

Chengzhi (Tom) Zhou (Engineering Year 3)

Graduate Degrees:

Talita d’Souza (M. Jur)

Tobias Lutzi (M. Jur)

Two of our students, Talita de Souza Dias and Tobias Lutzi, came first and second in the entire MJur cohort. Talita de Souza Dias was first and was awarded the Clifford Chance Prize for the Best Performance in MJur. She also received the Law Faculty Prize in International Law and Armed Conflict. Tobias Lutzi was second and was awarded the Clifford Chance MJur Prize Proxime Accessit. Both students were also awarded Mary Somerville Prizes.
