Dr Alice Prochaska and Ms Sara Kalim visited India in December to raise awareness of Somerville’s India project. Highlights of the trip included invitations to the Principal to speak at prestigious seminars at OP Jindal Global University (JGU) and Brookings India.

At Brookings the Principal shared a platform with Indian Minister Shashi Tharoor and spoke about the need to improve access to Oxford for Indian students.

In addition to speaking at the JGU seminar, ‘Subsistence, Survival and Sustainability in the 21st Century’, the Principal signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the JGU Vice Chancellor, Professor Raj Kumar, outlining plans for co-operation on a summer school at Somerville for JGU students, as well as student exchanges and conferences.
