2020 undergraduate registration

Please read the following information about the registration process. There is more information on the University website (www.ox.ac.uk/students/new).

Summary of registration process

The University requires all students to register online at the start of each academic year. In order to do this, you must take the following steps:

  1. Return your completed University card form to the College
  2. Receive your Single Sign On account details by email
  3. Register online using Student Self Service
  4. Register in person at Somerville (collecting your Biometric Residence Permit if applicable)

Single Sign On account

You will receive your Single Sign On account details by email once your University card form has been processed. You will need these details to register.


University registration

You will register using Single Sign On through an online system called Student Self Service. The registration process is a chance for you to check that the University holds the correct personal information about you and to make any amendments. Registration opens on Tuesday 1st September and closes on Friday 16th October. A detailed guide to using Student Self Service is on the University website (www.ox.ac.uk/students/registration).

College registration

Once you have completed the online arrivals booking (this goes live in September, we will email you further information) then we will arrange a registration appointment for you to register with the Academic Office after your arrival at college.

You will need to bring your passport or other formal photo ID.

If you have a visa you will need to bring your passport so we can take a scanned copy, and you will be given your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) if applicable.
