Event Start Date: 18 October 2024

Join us for the Mary Somerville Lecture on Friday October 18th 2024 to help celebrate a very special year at Somerville.

2024 marks not only 30 years since the College went mixed, but also the beginning of our five-year countdown to Somerville’s 150th anniversary and our Principal Jan Royall’s last year in the role. To mark the occasion, our very own Jan Royall will deliver the keynote address in a lecture reflecting upon Somerville’s historic role and vibrant future as an institution dedicated to changing the world through brilliant minds and a singular devotion to including the excluded.

We will also take the opportunity to introduce our new RISE campaign. As the largest single campaign in Somerville’s history, RISE will offer a pathway for Somervillians of all ages to come together and help shape the Somerville of tomorrow. We can’t wait to tell you how our four strategic pillars of Resilience, Inclusivity, Sustainability and Excellence will help safeguard our values and prepare us for the future, and about all the ways in which we want to protect key subjects, secure our unique tutorial system, and pave the way to Net Zero.

Date: Friday 18th October @ 5:30pm
Venue: Flora Anderson Hall
