Event Start Date: 28 June 2023

Walking through London’s Heritage – a guided walk with Marilyn Collis

This event is now fully booked.

We are delighted that Marilyn Collis has agreed to lead another fascinating walk for Somerville London Group on Wednesday 28th June at 5.30pm.

Many people will be familiar with the highly convenient #15 bus which links the City of London with the City of Westminster. It was known as the Heritage Route because it passes through such a rich selection of amazing historical sights along its two miles. Our brilliant guide Marilyn Collis will lead us through 2,000 years of history in just a couple of hours – touching on Roman London, learning about the Liberty Bounds, the first street lighting, the original Samaritan telephone, the face of a familiar politician checking out the financial news, the origins of the wedding cake and much more.  any people will be familiar with the highly convenient #15 bus which links the City of London with the City of Westminster. It was known as the Heritage Route because it passes through such a rich selection of amazing historical sights along its two miles.
