Event Start Date: 09 December 2022

At the beginning of December Somervillians and their guests gathered at Temple Church in the heart of legal London for a Christmas Carol Concert. The college choir, conducted by William Dawes, Director of Chapel Music, led the singing of carols familiar and new (Once in Royal David’s City, Silent Night, A Tender Shoot, Lux Arumque …). Readings were poems by Sir John Betjeman, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Robert Louis Stevenson and Walter de la Mare and after the Principal´s closing remarks the congregation sang O come, all ye faithful before adjourning for drinks, eats and conversation in the Round of the Church.
