Somerville’s extensive gardens are the result of decades of hard work and the particular commitment of the two gardeners (yes, just two!) who continue to make the College such a beautiful place to live and work.

Look closely and you can find the College colours, nods to our long-standing links with India, a strip of bright Alpine colours, a tree planted by former British prime minister Harold Macmillan and, of course, the emblematic Somerville thistle. But don’t take our word for it. Take the virtual tour or, better still, come and see the gardens for yourself!
