Event Start Date: 28 May 2022 19:00

Somerville College Chapel is thrilled to announce that that the soprano, Dame Emma Kirkby (possibly the most renowned contributor to the early-music world over the last 50 years, and an Honorary Fellow of the college) will soon be returning to Somerville to give a recital in the Chapel. Her career is something that any musician would envy, and this concert is a very rare appearance in Oxford.

Dame Emma and Mr Lindberg will be performing ‘Tant que vivray’, a 60 minute programme celebrating the earliest lute virtuosi of the European Renaissance.

Tickets are available via email (choir@some.ox.ac.uk), priced at £15 for general audience, £5 for students and free for Music students.

This prestigious event is open to the public, so do please reserve your tickets as soon as possible, as we expect it to sell out quickly. The concert will be followed by a reception in the FAH, where you are welcome to meet Emma and Jakob.

Please note, there will also be a masterclass given by Dame Emma to individual members of the college choir from 1pm-3pm on Sunday 29th May.  Entry to that is free and tickets do not need to be reserved.
