Location: The Mathematical Institute and Somerville College

Professor Lahiri’s valedictory lecture will occur at the Mathematical Institute.

At 4:30 PM on Monday 13th June, she will lecture on the topic of the ‘Pertinacity of Phonological Systems’ in the Andrew Wiles Building. The Vice Chancellor Louise Richardson will be in attendance, and academic gowns may be worn. There will be a drinks reception after the lecture.

Professor Lahiri is a truly pioneering figure across multiple specialisms, including phonology, phonetics, historical and comparative linguistics, psycholinguistics and neurolinguistics. She is the Director of the University’s pioneering Language and Brain Lab, a founder of the University’s Faculty of Linguistics, Philology and Phonetics and the first Indian woman to hold a professorial Chair at Oxford. We are truly proud of her many accomplishments and look forward to celebrating these with her many Oxford colleagues and friends this June.
