Professor Stephanie Dalley
Senior Research Fellow in Assyriology
Stephanie Dalley is a British scholar of the Ancient Near East who was formerly a Fellow of the Oriental Institute, Oxford, where she taught Akkadian and Sumerian for almost three decades.
She is best known for her investigation into the Hanging Gardens of Babylon and her proposal that it was situated in Nineveh and constructed during the rule of Sennacherib. Her other achievements include her work on the Sealand Dynasty.
