2019 arrival information for graduate students on other courses
Please read the following information about arriving at Somerville.
We would ask that you arrive at Somerville by Monday 7th October for registration. Please note that your department or faculty might need you to arrive in Oxford before this date for induction sessions.
If you have requested a room in College accommodation, you will be emailed in August with details of your room allocation. The date you can move in will depend on the length of your course and the type of accommodation. Please email email@example.com with any queries.
Travelling to Somerville
A map showing the location of Somerville is available on the College website.
When you arrive at the College, please report to the Porters’ Lodge, which is just inside the main entrance to the College on Woodstock Road. There you will be given your room key, and told how to find your room if you will be living in College. Please check your pigeonhole and collect any post. You will also be given a temporary access card until you can collect your University card during registration.
Parking and unloading
Please note that parking is limited within the College. If you have mobility difficulties and require parking, please request this at the earliest opportunity by emailing the Lodge Manager (firstname.lastname@example.org). There are double yellow lines at the front of the College and parking there will be entirely at the driver’s own risk. There is Pay and Display parking on roads near the College, but this is limited. We therefore recommend parking at Pear Tree Park & Ride, which is north of Oxford. The Pear Tree Park & Ride bus stops are very close to the College’s main entrance on Woodstock Road. There is more information on the Park & Ride website. If you have any queries about parking or unloading, please email the Lodge Manager (email@example.com).
You will need to come to the Mary Somerville Room in House Building to complete the registration process and collect your University card. Please bring your passport with you. We will be open for new student registration on the following dates, 10:00-11:00 and 14:00-15:00:
