Margaryta is a development economist whose research focuses on the behaviour of firms in both empirical and theoretical settings.

Her recent work has also examined the effect of information provision about child and forced labour in developing countries on international trade. Her current research studies the behaviour of firms in Georgia and Ukraine.

Margaryta studied her MSc in Economics at the University of Edinburgh and her PhD at Trinity College, Dublin as a Grattan scholar. During her PhD studies she interned at UNU-WIDER and worked as a consultant for the World Bank.
