Password Problems?

Why do I have more than one password?

OUCS are responsible for your Herald/Webmail email account which is also your Single Sign On account (SSO).  Somerville College are responsible for your local access inside the College and therefore give you an account to access our servers, and also an account to access your MyBackup Service.

Obviously this causes some confusion and we are looking into combining all accounts into the University SSO service over the next few years.

Password Problems

Webmail

If you are having issues with your Webmail/SSO account (format: some1234) then you will need to contact OUCS or use their online help services: http://www.oucs.ox.ac.uk/help/.

SOME2K

If you are experiencing problems with your SOME2K account (the one that starts with your surname) it might be because your password has expired.  Your password will expire every 12 months and will need to be reset to activate it for another year.  You may see a problem when you are connecting from your room and don't use the College computers where you are unable to log into the WebSense system (192.168.0.3), this can also be due to an expired password.
In order to un-expire your SOME2K password, please go to our user password management site and follow the instructions.
