Working with teachers

At Somerville, we believe that schools and colleges should not be deterred from encouraging their able students to apply because of a lack of information about how to go about it.  We are committed to working with teachers and their pupils to help them understand the Oxford admissions process so that they can make confident and competitive applications. We work particularly closely with schools and colleges in our link regions of Buckinghamshire, Hounslow and Kingston upon Thames.

For more information, please email us.

School visits

We regularly visit schools to talk to students about what it's like to study at Oxford, and how to apply, as well as for HE fairs and careers conventions. Please contact us if you would like someone to come to your event.

Visits to Oxford

We think that one of the best ways teachers and their pupils can learn about Oxford in general, and Somerville in particular, is to come and visit us!  If your students are unable to attend one of our Open Days, or if you are looking for a different programme, we encourage you to arrange a visit to the College to suit your needs.

Visits from former students

Our students are our best ambassadors, and so we encourage our current undergraduates to go back to their old school and talk about their experience at Oxford.  If you have a former pupil or a friend who is now at Somerville, please contact us and we will help you arrange a visit.
