Fundraising Target £13m 

On the 17th and 18th September 2011, Somerville celebrated the grand opening of its two new accommodation blocks on the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter site, and the first group of students moved into the ROQ buildings in October.

The project would not have been possible without the support of alumni and friends. It was a special pleasure to welcome more than 400 donors during the opening weekend in September 2011, and we look forward to welcoming many more of you in the coming months.

After a target of £2 million for the first phase of the building appeal, the ROQ building appeal raised more than £2.7 million in donations from alumni, friends and foundations. In the second phase of the Campaign, focusing on graduate accommodation, we continue to raise funds towards new buildings for Somerville, with an ambitious target of £13 million. The opportunity to name rooms, kitchens or even a whole floor remains, and we hope alumni and other funding partners will join the impressive community of donors.
