London Group

The London Group is the largest and most active of our alumni groups. The committee organises several events each year, giving members privileged access to London venues and fascinating speakers.

In 2011 the London Group has heard from the Sir Sherard Cowper-Cowles on his experience as British Ambassador to Afghanistan, listened to Professor Ann Oakley’s talk on extraordinary women and how they become forgotten, and was given fashion advice from John Lewis.

Next Event:

A guided tour of the London Library, founded in 1841 by Thomas Carlyle to provide
an institution which would allow subscribers to enjoy the riches of a national library
in their own homes.   Please save the date, booking details will follow shortly

If you would like to join the London Group, or have a suggestion for future events or activities, please contact the Somerville Association Secretary, Liz Cooke.
