The City Group

The City Group is open to all who have an interest in business or the financial services and is not restricted to 'The City' itself. City Group events provide the opportunity to listen to interesting speakers whom you might not otherwise hear in public, often in venues to which you might not usually have access; they are also fun and offer the chance to network with diverse but like-minded Somervillians in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

      Past events have included fashion shows at Wardrobe and Savile Row; and talks by Somervillian speakers on a variety of subjects. Most recently, in June 2011, a panel convened at the Goldman Sachs Offices to discuss corporate social responsibility, debating the question “Does sustainability pay?”  
  I February 2012 the City Group event was a fabulous black tie dinner held at a private dining room in the House of Commons. This was hosted by Sam Gyimah (Somerville, 1995, PPE), MP for Surrey East.  Please follow the link to view the photographs taken on the night.
