Somerville is committed to supporting our students, even after you have graduated. So if you have already completed a degree at Somerville, or are due to complete your course in 2011-12, you can apply for financial support from us to help you with the next step in your post-Somerville career. There are two schemes open to Somerville alumni and finalists. Please note that the Award funds are not hardship funds Alice Horsman Fund Closing date: Friday 12th April Decisions made: Wednesday 9th May Number of awards: Around 10 Value: Up to £2,000, although we do not normally expect to make awards of more than £1,000 Eligibility: Open to all Somerville finalists and alumni (undergraduates and graduates) who are in need of financial support for travel, research or further study (outside of Somerville - candidates applying to stay at Somerville should apply for a Somerville College Alumni Scholarship). Selection criteria: applications are assessed on their potential to boost your personal and/or professional development and improve your career prospects Somerville College Alumni Scholarships Closing date: Friday 12th April Decisions made: Wednesday 9th May Number of awards: 4 Value: £1,500 as a one-off payment Eligibility: Open to Somerville undergraduates applying for a graduate course at Oxford in a subject area accepted by Somerville. Candidates can have completed their undergraduate degree at any time in the past, or be completing this year. Candidates must have applied for a graduate course by the 11th March deadline (i.e. submitted a complete application in the November, January or March deadlines).
