Somerville has a lively graduate community of around 100 students reading for a variety of advanced degrees and diplomas. We welcome applications from people of all educational, cultural, and religious backgrounds.
We are proud to be able to provide generous financial support each year to a number of graduate students. We offer four Graduate Scholarships, associated with the University's Clarendon Scholarships, for international students. One Scholarship is available in each of the University's four Divisions (Humanities; Social Sciences; Mathematical, Physical and Life Sciences; Medical Sciences).
There will also be one or more Medical Fund Scholarship for students on the Clinical Medicine (BM BCh) or Graduate-Entry Medicine course. Each scholarship will be valued at up to £1,000 a year, with dining rights at Tuesday Guest Nights for its duration. These scholarships are supported by the funds raised by the Somerville Medics Association and applications are considered in Trinity Term each year.
Details of all scholarships are usually available by 6th Week of Hilary Term, from the College's online Student Portal. Enquiries should be directed to the Academic Office.
In addition, for Somerville undergraduates proceeding to a graduate degree here, four Somerville College Alumni Scholarships are available, again one in each of the University's four divisions. We also are keen to support Somervillians who are going on to do a graduate degree elsewhere, and the Horsman Scholarship is available for this purpose.
