Undergraduates

A wide range of subjects is available at undergraduate level. There are around 400 undergraduates, with a healthy balance between humanities and science students.

Potential undergraduates are assessed purely on the basis of their academic achievement and their potential. Pupils from schools or colleges with little or no experience of Oxford applications are just as strongly encouraged to apply as those from schools or colleges with a tradition of sending students to Oxford. Somerville, true to its founding principles, welcomes applications from students of all educational, cultural, and religious backgrounds, and all nationalities.
