Annie Sutherland's research interests lie in the field of medieval religious literature. Her doctoral thesis focused on mystical writings of the late Middle Ages, although she now has particular interests in early medieval female spirituality.  At the moment, she is working on a book about Middle English translations of the Psalms and the development of lay devotion.
