The Faculty of English has over 100 active research staff covering literature from Anglo-Saxon times to the present day and is the largest English Department in the United Kingdom. Somerville's Fellows are prolific researchers and publish widely. They support and encourage research from graduates and undergraduates in all areas and take a multidisciplinary approach to the subject.
