Professor Gurr is a molecular plant pathologist with research interests in the design of novel disease resistance strategies in crops. Her work is mainly with plant pathogenic fungi but she also has members of her group working on fungi which cause skin disease and in the exploitation of fungal enzymes in the creation of a biofuel cell.
