The Dean and the two Junior Deans oversee student welfare and non-academic discipline. They are available to provide guidance and support, and they regulate behaviour and ensure that the needs and interests of all students are respected.
The Deans' Regulations and Decanal Disciplinary Procedure explain students' obligations as members of the College community. The Deans' Regulations also include information about how to book function rooms and organise meetings and social events.
One of the Junior Deans is on call every evening, night and weekend during full term. The Junior Deans are available to support students with problems in areas including (but not limited to) relationships, anxiety, stress, physical ill health, mental health, and worries about academic work. The on-call rota for the Junior Deans is posted in the Porters' Lodge.
The Porters' Lodge handles night-time noise disturbance and other problems.
The Deans' Hour (in Maitland 22) provides an opportunity for the Deans and students to talk together about disciplinary and welfare matters.
